Getting Started
1. When you login to ZohoMail you will be provided with a @zoho.com emailId by default.
2. Apart from this, if you want to configure other email accounts, through POP download. GoTo Settings->Common Settings->Mail Accounts->And Click add mail account to add a new mail account.In case if you are accessing from ZohoBusiness then it would be Settings->MailSettings->Common Settings->Mail Accounts.

Please note that ZohoMail treats each Mail account separately, meaning when you configure other mail accounts, those emails will not land in your ZohoMail account. They need to be viewed separately by using the drop down available at the top left corner(above the folders).

How do I enable JavaScript in my browser?
To enable JavaScript in your browser, please follow the instructions mentioned below:

* Open an IE browser window and select Tools > Internet Options...
* Click on the Security tab
* Click on the Custom Level button present in Security tab
* Scroll down and search for the section named Scripting
* Scripting section will have a sub-section named Active Scripting
* Under Active Scripting select the radio button Enable and click OK

* Open a Firefox browser window and select Tools > Options...
* Select the Content tab

Can I have my own domain based email address
Yes, this is possible. Please login to http://business.zoho.com/. If you are the admin, then you will have the Control Panel link where you will options to register/verfiy your domain and a Mail Administration page using which you can add your domain based email address. Importing Contacts
You can import your contacts using the Contacts link available under the Views section. There you can "Import" your contacts from Google, Yahoo or from other email clients which have been exported in CSV format.
Address Book
AddressBook is available in the Compose page, next to the Send Button. You have the option to select your contacts to be set as To/Cc/Bcc recipients.
Is https access available for ZohoMail?
Yes, just access https://mail.zoho.com/. You can set the preferences to use HTTPS access only. Go to http://www.accounts.zoho.com/. Click on Preferences> Check the option> Always use Secure (https) Access and save the settings. It would require a logout and login. After that,when you sign on, it would automatically take you through https access.
What is the storage limit of Zohomail
Zoho Mail provides unlimited storage spave. We provide ample storage space for personal and limited storage limit for business users. To know more about the features that a business user is entitled to have, click here
Is IMAP support available?
Currently we dont support IMAP. But this is in our roadmap.
What is the maximum size limit of a mail?
The maximum mail size allowed for ZohoMail account is 12MB with the attachment size limit of 10MB
What happens when I delete a folder?
When you delete a folder it is moved as a subfolder of Trash Folder. Only when you do a "Empty Trash" the folder and its associated filter is permanently deleted. And this trash will only be emptied once a month. So you have 30 days time to get emails back!
I have accidentally deleted a mail from the folder. How do I restore it?
All your deleted mails will be sent to the Trash folder from where you can restore the deleted mails.
Keyboard Shortcuts
With Zoho Mail, usability becomes even more easy! We have a host of keyboard shortcuts available for the key-savvy user. Now simply choose to punch the keys instead of clicking the mouse! To avail of the shortcuts go to the mail settings and enable keyboard shortcuts. The comple set of keyboard shortcuts can be viewed by just clicking Shift+? keys from the main ZohoMail page.
How would I switch between the mail accounts
On the top left corner, above the folders, there is a small inverted triangle drop down button to list your email accounts click on the drop down and you can see the email accounts that you have configured

How long mails will be held in Trash and Spam folder?
We delete mails from the Trash and Spam folder periodically during which mails older than 1 month will be permanently deleted.
How to change my language and timezone?
In order to change your language and/or timezone, goto MyAccounts(will be available before the logout link on top of the zoho mail window, accessed through http://www.mail.zoho.com/ ). You will be redirected to http://accounts.zoho.com. There click on the Personal Information link available in the left hand side, where you will be able to change your language and timezone. Once you have done these changes, logout and login to ZohoMail once, for the changes to take effect. You can also login to http://www.accounts.zoho.com/ to change your language, time zone, password and other preferences in your account.
How would I close the account in Zoho?
If you wish to close your Zoho account, click on My Account> Close Account.

Customize From Address
If you have forwarded emails of other mail accounts to your ZohoMail account, or if your ZohoAccount is part of an email alias and you would like that email Id to be listed as your "From" address along with your ZohoMail account, this is what you need to do,
1. GoTo Settings->Common Settings->My Preferences
2. Under "Account Details" -> Click on the "Add another email address" link
3. You will be prompted with a dialog box, where you will need to enter the "Display Name" and "Email Id" -> The Display Name
will be the name part of the email Id that is going to be added.
4. Once you click on "Send Verfication" , a mail with a confirmation code will be sent to the "Email Id" that you have added in
Step 3.
5. Upon receiving the "Verification email", copy the confirmation code and enter it in the ZohoMail settings page.
6. If Step 5 is successfull, the new email id will also be listed as your "From" address in the ZohoMail composer.
What is Outbox? How do I configure it?
The Zmail outbox is a very cool feature helping you pause your mails for a specified time limit before it is sent. To activate your outbox access your Settings->My Preferences->Compose Options->Outbox. Specify the no. of minutes you want the mail to wait in the Zmail servers and click on Save.
Any mail that you send will be be queued in the outbox for some time after which it is sent. You can also access your outbox to send the mail immediately.
Setting up Filters and run through filters
Filters help to change the flow of emails into your inbox.
To create a new filter go to Settings>Personalize [account]> Filters>Add Filters.
Then you will need to choose the criteria and you may choose the folders and the labels if you need. Hit Save. After saving it, the specific emails should get filtered.
If you have already created filters and if you want to run the filters on the folders, choose the filters and then click on the Run Through Filters button. Choose the folders you want to run through, click on the folders and hit ok. Now the emails will be moved to the appropriate folders.
You can also import filters from other sources. Export the filters as .dat file and it will automatically create the folders while importing, if you had any on the original source.
Can I download ZohoMail through POP in other mail clients?
Yes, you can download ZohoMail using POP download over TLS. The configuration information is :

How would I add Signature to my outgoing emails?
Go to Settings>Personalize [account name]>Signature.
Check the option Add my customized signature at the end of all mails.
Then add the signature, click on Save.
Please note that pictures have to be added using the "Add Image" icon on that window.
If you try to copy and paste the contents of the signature from another source to Zoho signature window, it might not work.
It is suggested to manually create the signature for your zoho account.
What is "sending interval" in vacation reply?
It is the number of days between successive vacation reply sent for a particular mail id. So if you set 1 as the sending interval then vacation reply will be sent once per day, if you set it as 2 then vacation reply will be sent once in 2 days.
EMail Forwarding
You can forward your Zoho emails to other email address from Settings->Personalize <ZohoEmailid>->Email Forwarding option.
Where can I change the default email account?
Go to Settings>Common settings>Mail accounts.
If you have more than one account, there will be an option button to choose the default email account. Choose your default email account. Make sure the account that you make default is active.
How would I know my account usage?
To know the account usage, go to Settings> Common Settings>Mail Accounts. On this page above your main default account you can see the Total account usage.
Label Operations.
To apply label to an email, highlight the email, click on the Label button and choose the label.
To clear the label from an email, highlight the label and then choose remove label.
The label will be removed from that particular mail.
How would I set Vacation/Auto reply for my outgoing emails?
Click on Settings -> Personalize -> Vacation Reply. Set Yes to Enable Vacation Reply
Choose whether the reply is to be sent only to your contacts, non-contacts or everyone
Set the dates for which the vacation reply is to be active.
Type in the subject, the body of the email and the ‘Sending Interval’ (this refers to the number of days after which the auto-reply will get sent)
COMMON PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED WHILE SENDING EMAILS Sending failed; Reason:552 5.1.7 Sender Address Blocked
This error occurs when a personal user sends mails to more than 30 recipients and a business user to more than 50 recipients or getting 15 bounces a day.
Recently, we have received some complaints that Zoho accounts have been used to send spam emails across. We had to take some stringent measures to limit spamming.
You will be able to receive emails but you will be blocked from sending emails. You will need to send an email to support@zohomail.com to unblock your account.
Sending failed; Reason:553 Relaying disallowed
If this issue occurs for those who have hosted their domain in Zoho, please check that your domain is enabled(this can be done in the mail administration page from ZohoBusiness) and your MX is pointed to mx.zohomail.com. If you still get this error when sending mail from your @zoho.com account, please send an email to support@zohomail.com immediately.
Sending failed. Reason554: Recipient address rejected: Access Denied
This error occurs for POP when your ISP does not allow mail relaying through ZohoMail. Please correct this with your ISP and check if you still face the issue.
Error: POP account for this EmailId already configured.
There are two reasons for this issue:
1. You are trying to configure POP3 for an account which is already configured as POP account.
2. This error pops up when you are trying to configure POP for the account for an email address which is already been selected as the Set Default Email Id on the Settings page.
A work around for the second kinda issue is that you can choose your Zoho account as the default email id and then you can try to configure POP for your another account.
Example: Your gmail account has been chosen as the default email id on the settings page. You try to configure POP for the same Gmail account.
You get the error as shown:

Then you need to choose the Zoho account as the Default Email Id.To do that, go to Settings>Common Settings>My Preferences>Account Details.
Choose your Zoho email address and then save the changes.
After doing this, you should be able to configure POP for your gmail account thereon.
If you want to use your gmail account as the default email Id on your mails, you can change the settings back to your old settings.
Problem in sending mail while doing IO operation
This is because the signature content in your mail account has been copied and pasted, especially images, from some other source and it causes an issue while sending emails.
So it is adviced to manually add the signature instead of copying and pasting it from other applications.
Yahoo domains don't get emails from Zoho
It looks like yahoo is temporarily deferring mails for some of the users but processing it later. We have received few complaints from our users. So, mails do reach yahoo, but with some delay. Please check in Spam folder if not found in Inbox.
But if the message did not reach yahoo even after a significant time lapse, please send the specific message header to support@zohomail.com. For message header go to : More Options -> Show Original (or simply \"s\" if keyboard shortcut is enabled). This might help us to identify and resolve the issue.

IMPORT/EXPORT
How Can I import Mail from Thunderbird?
Steps to export Thunderbird Mails
1. To convert the mails from Thunderbird format to the standard format, download the exe tbird2oe_1_0_setup.exe from

2. From Thunderbird, select Tools -> AccountSettings ->ServerSettings, note down the location of the Local Directory specified there.
3. Run the tbird2oe_1_0_setup.exe and give the above directory name for Source field and give some other new directory for
output and Run.
4. Once the conversion is done, zip all the .eml files in the new directory and give it as input for importing in mail.zoho.com.
Steps to Import into ZohoMail
1. Log on to Zoho Mail and go to Settings> Personalize <account name> Import/Export Mails
2. Browse and select the file to import.
(note: Here you can import a single .eml file or a zip file containing muliple .eml files of size upto 40 MB)
3. Choose the "Folder" you want to import.
4. Click "Import" button.
If you want to import from an email client in a folder, you will need to create the folders before hand
The import option takes approximately an hour to import. Import gets scheduled and it will import the emails after an hour or so.
Can I export Mails from ZohoMail?
To create a backup of your emails, please click Settings> Personalize [Account name]> Import/ Export Mails. There you can export your mails as a zip file.Similar to the import, export also takes an hour. You will receive an email with a zip file attachment.
How to import contacts into Zoho from outlook?
Steps to export the contacts from Outlook.
1. Open the outlook.
2. Go to File>Import and Export, Import and Export Wizard appears.
3. Choose Export to a file, click Next.
4. Click on Comma Separated Values(Windows) option.Hit Next.
5. Choose the folder from which you are exporting the contacts.Click Next.
6. Type a name for the exported file and choose the location and click Next.
7. Then if you want to map the fields and click on Finish to export the contacts.
8. Once the contacts are exported logon to your zoho account.
You can logon to either your ZBusiness account or the Zmail account to import the contacts.
Steps to import the contacts into Zoho.
1. Click on the Import button.
2. Underneath Import from other email application, click on the browse button, navigate to the location of the exported CSV file and click on Open.
3. You need to map the fields from the CSV to the fields available in the Zoho Contacts.
4. Importing the contacts will take a few minutes depending upon the number of contacts you import.
5. Refresh the page once.
How to import contacts from the Yahoo,Gmail and Hotmail accounts?
1. Logon to your Zoho Account.
2. Click on the Contacts on the left bottom corner.
3. Click on the Import button on the right top corner of the contacts page.
4. Proceed with the instructions to import the contacts.
5. Refreshing the page once and you will be able to see the contacts.
Steps to configure POP on the iPhone.
1. Go to Menus.
2. Choose the Mail menu.
3. Select POP option.
4. Type the Name and the email id on the fields and the description field is optional. Then fill in the information for the incoming mail server on the Host name field.
5. Type the user name and the password Then fill in the outgoing mail server information: the host name, user name and password and hit Save It takes a few minutes time to process.
6. Once this is done successfully, you are good to go!
